
Ingredients
- ¾ cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 2 cups flour, plus more for kneading and dusting your work surfaces
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt, less if you only have table salt handy
- ½ tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons cornmeal, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450º.
- In a medium size mixing bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Add the yeast and let it sit for 3-5 minutes until it starts to bubble.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Stir to combine.
- Knead the dough for about 3-4 minutes in the bowl, until it has a nice, smooth texture.
- Cover it with a damp kitchen towel and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- Now get your pizza toppings ready.
- Oil pizza pan and dust with a little cornmeal.
- Once the toppings are ready, divide the dough in half and shape it into a circle on your prepared pizza pan.
- Add your toppings.
- Bake until golden brown – approx. 15-20 minutes.
