We work with a trusted Community Sourcing Partner in the south of India that supports farmers across Karnataka State and neighbouring regions. This partner helps small and marginal farmers organize into cooperative-style groups and supports them in cultivating certified organic land. From these farms come our true cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, cayenne, smoked chili flakes and vanilla beans, some of which are also FairTrade certified.
The farmers practice intercropping~ also known as planting food forests ~ where multiple crops grow harmoniously, enriching biodiversity and soil health. This sustainable approach provides farmers with greater income from the same land, while protecting the environment for future generations. Our Community Sourcing Partner provides continuous training and support in organic farming, seed procurement, soil building, harvesting, storage, and food safety practices.
Beyond agriculture, this partnership has far-reaching social and environmental impact. Our Community Sourcing Partner leads programs that promote water conservation through rainwater harvesting, percolation pits, and check-dams, ensuring reliable year-round water access for farms and nearby communities. Their biodiversity initiatives include tree planting projects that reintroduce endangered native species within a 600-acre protected forest, creating a living research hub for future generations.

They transition certain wild-harvested plant species into cultivated systems to protect wild ecosystems and study regenerative crop cycles to maintain soil vitality over time. Through these practices, they balance ecological protection with responsible agricultural production.
Equally important is their commitment to community well-being. Their initiatives improve access to clean water, sanitation, housing, and education in farming villages. They also invest in essential farm infrastructure such as compost pits, and community drying yards, while ensuring fair working conditions.
All crops are processed at a state-of-the-art facility in Bangalore that is gluten-free and kosher certified. The facility has achieved BRC, the highest level of global food safety certification, and operates under a stringent Internal Control System that ensures complete farm-to-customer traceability.
