Gathering Place is proud to support Child Haven International - a registered NGO founded in 1985. They operate projects and homes in India, Tibet, Bangladesh, and Nepal and assist upwards of 1300 orphaned children and women in need per year.
Inspired by the philosophy of Mahatma Ghandi, Child Haven provides food, education, housing, and support. There are many different reasons why a child or a woman may come to Child Haven: sudden loss of family members, disability, or societal discrimination due to gender, caste, or religion.
It's a huge part of our company philosophy to support individuals—with a special focus on children and women—in the areas of the world where our products are grown. Our cumin, coriander, fennel, garlic, and onion all come from the northern states of India.
Many companies “give back,” but only from profit earned after expenses and salaries. At Gathering Place, we donate one percent of all our sales (not profits) to important, grassroots initiatives that directly improve the lives of real people.
