Simple Cardamom Chai

Chai simply means spiced tea. This version highlights just one spice, pairing our bold Ceylon Black Tea with fragrant cardamom pods for a cup that feels comforting and quietly aromatic.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 cup milk or plant-based milk (oat recommended)
  • 2 tsp Gathering Place Ceylon Black tea
  • 2-4 Gathering Place Cardamom Pods, lightly crushed
  • Sweetener to taste

Directions

  1. Bring the water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan. Add the crushed cardamom pods and black tea.
  2. Let it steep for 2-3 minutes, then pour in the milk. Reduce the heat to low and let the chai simmer softly for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and strain the chai into two mugs using a fine sieve.
  4. Sweeten to taste and enjoy warm.
