Our Bay Leaf grows very close to home. In fact, we grow Gathering Place Bay Leaf right on our Cortes Island home property on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

This beautiful, vibrant green Bay Leaf is one of the staples in our Canadian Culinary Herb Collection. Hand-picked and carefully washed and dehydrated, every leaf of Gathering Place Bay is from the current year’s harvest. 

We love that we can offer you products grown right on our own land, in pure rich soil, surrounded by large cedars and firs, caressed by the salty brine air, and watered by west coast rains and pure well water.

We hope you enjoy this sustainably-grown and lovingly-tended bay leaf in soups, stews, risotto, or rice.

About Our Cortes Island Farm

All of the bay and rosemary in our line of Canadian culinary herbs comes from our home property or other small homesteads on Cortes. We love that we can offer you products grown right on our own land, in pure rich soil, surrounded by large cedars and firs, caressed by the salty brine air, and watered by west coast rains and pure well water.

Each leaf of bay and rosemary that you find in your Gathering Place Trading package has been gently plucked by someone in our family and then later, carefully washed, graded, and dehydrated by one of our teammates. This tender “hands-on” process explains the bright colour and freshness of our herbs, which so many of our customers comment on and are delighted by!
