About Our Cumin Seed

Gathering Place Cumin Seed comes from a small organic farming cooperative in Northern India, the sister to our Farmers’ Cooperative in the south! The cumin seeds, which are native to the north, are hand harvested and shade dried before shipping direct to us. Bursting with flavour, cumin is a member of the parsley family, and is a staple in curries, spice blends, and chili.

About Our North India Suppliers

Our direct North Indian suppliers work at the farm level with thousands of small scale farmers who grow organic spices and use sustainable farming practices. Our cumin, coriander, fennel, onion, and garlic come from these small scale farms. This grassroots organic movement is spreading like wildfire in Northern India, resulting in not only better care for the environment, but better quality of life for the farmers too. These suppliers have state-of-the-art processing facilities, which are BRC-certified, the top food safety standard in the world. Their spices are gluten free and Kosher certified.
