Honduras Farmers and Farms

We import cardamon pods and seeds plus allspice berries from a family business in Honduras. Established in 1982, this small-scale company is committed to organic farming, which is the traditional way of their people. They are also passionate about shining a light on the products that come from their country and desire to share them with the rest of the world.

In recent years, due to two massive hurricanes that wiped out road infrastructure in 2020, both farming and getting products to market has become much more difficult. We feel proud to support a small-scale family operation in an area of the world that is struggling to meet many of the basic needs of their people. In our Campbell River facility, we grind their cardamom seeds to create a cardamom powder and we use their allspice berries in our holiday blends. We are proud to sell Honduran cardamom pod, seed, powder, and allspice under our Gathering Place brand.
