Looking for a quick, nourishing meal that comes together in minutes? These flavourful black beans are seasoned with our bold Southwest Taco Spice and ready in just 10 minutes once the beans are cook dry beans in your Instant Pot or pressure cooker ahead of time.


Spoon these delicious beans into tacos, burritos, enchiladas, or load them onto nachos for an easy family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of unsalted black beans (400 ml each)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 garlic gloves, minced
  • 1-2 tbsp Gathering Place Southwest Taco Spice
  • 1 tbsp Gathering Place Antarctic Pure Sea Salt
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 4 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in the black beans.
  5. Add the Southwest Taco Spice and Antarctic Pure Sea Salt. If using salted canned beans, start with less salt and adjust to taste.
  6. Stir well and cook for about 3–5 minutes until the beans are heated through and well coated in the spices.
