Savoury Onion Popcorn Sprinkle

A deliciously savoury popcorn sprinkle made with nutritional yeast, aromatic onion powder and our mineral-rich Salt & Kelp. Finished with a touch of black pepper, it creates an irresistible snack that’s simple, flavourful and naturally dairy-free🍿✨
Ingredients
½ cup popcorn kernels
1–2 tablespoons coconut oil, for popping
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil, for drizzling
¼ cup nutritional yeast
2 teaspoons Gathering Place Onion Powder
¾ teaspoon finely ground Gathering Place Salt & Kelp, or to taste
⅛ teaspoon black pepper, optional
Directions
In a small bowl, mix the nutritional yeast and Gathering Place Onion Powder together. Set aside.
Heat 1–2 tablespoons of coconut oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the popcorn kernels, cover the pot and gently shake it occasionally as the kernels begin to pop.
Once the popping slows to a few seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat.
Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil. Toss well to coat.
Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the popcorn a little at a time, tossing between additions to distribute it evenly.
Finish with freshly ground Gathering Place Salt & Kelp and black pepper, if desired, adding a little at a time to taste. Serve warm and enjoy! 🍿
