The journey of our Antarctic Pure Fine Sea Salt begins in the pristine Antarctic Ocean, carried north by the swift Benguela Current along South Africa’s rugged west coast. As it travels, the ice-cold ocean water filters slowly through layers of ancient seashell beds and sand, collecting in a rare underground saltwater aquifer where it is gently purified over time.

Naturally sourced from this same underground aquifer as our traditional salts, this gently dried version of our fine sea salt offers consistent quality and a dependable supply, while maintaining its mineral-rich character.

Also hand-harvested and carefully sieved, this fine sea salt is gently dried to achieve a smooth, consistent texture. This thoughtful process helps preserve its natural mineral balance, clean taste, and delicate finish.

Naturally containing over 80 trace minerals, our Antarctic sea salt has been independently tested to confirm a rich mineral spectrum, including approximately 4,300 ppm magnesium, 1,500 ppm calcium, and 1,300 ppm potassium, contributing to its naturally mineral rich composition.

Unrefined and free from additives, this fine sea salt retains its full mineral character, offering depth of flavour that enhances both everyday cooking and finishing dishes. Independently tested for purity and heavy metals, it is ideal for cooking, baking, and finishing.

While most of the world’s salt is mined from non-renewable sources, our sea salt originates from the Benguela current in the Antarctic Ocean, on the West Coast of South Africa. The water flows through layers of shells into a deep aquifer. This natural process purifies the water and increases the abundance of minerals, while removing micro-plastics and other contaminants. This pristine brine is sun and wind-dried and the crystals are hand-harvested by our South African fair trade partners, never machine cut or ground. Our sea salt is unrefined and free from additives or preservatives.
